Hi all
We are in a bit of a dilemma, we don't know what to do with the outside of our house. The house is sort of a really dark brown/red colour, and is starting to show its age. I don't want to actually get the whole cement render thing happening due to $$, but someone a block over has recently painted the outside of their house. It is simply painted on, no cement render etc. They had a red brick house that was really awful and have now made it into a cream/beige colour that looks fantastic.
I don't mind putting in the labour to do it, but does anyone know how I should go about it in terms of who I talk to to see if it would be ok to do. If we just go ahead and do it, what if it looks awful?
We have a paint sprayer, and to save time would hire another one to save time and get it all done in one day.
The house is looking drab and seeing we are considering selling in the next year or so, we want to brighten it up.
any ideas? _________________

Hi Kirrarne,
maybe pop down the road and ask the people that have done it?
Check out your local hardware/paint store to see what they have in the ways of painting bricks? |

bunnings should be quite helpful, maybe check out the dulux website too, not sure if they do it for the outside but you can change colours for rooms etc by clicking on different links and see the finished product...sounds great, I would love to paint our brick house without rendering too, I love the look, I think any shade of cream or beige would look great. _________________

I have here some little information i guess it can help up to you,
Enamels are less likely to be damaged by cleaning than are most flat latex paints. They come in a wide range of finishes including, high gloss,semi-gloss,satin or eggshell which is a hand rubbed look with a very slight sheen finish, not a color. Hope you will like this little information i gave in this thread... |
